Jared attended James Madison High School in San Antonio, Texas. He started taking acting classes when he was at twelve and also participated in various school plays. Jared won “Claim to Fame” contest in 1999 at the Teen Choice Awards on FOX. He won regional, state and national awards and 2000’s Presidential Scholars Award for the National Foundation for Advancement of Arts. He graduated in 2000 and after graduation he moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue an acting career. Jared filmed a pilot for NBC but that was never picked up. He got the role of Dean, on ‘Gilmore Girls’ when he was planning to attend the University of Texas and he changed his mind after getting the role. Currently, he is co-starring Jensen Ackles on ‘Supernatural’ and is dating actress Sandra Coy. He has also appeared in such films as New York Minute, Flight of the Phoenix, House of Wax, and Cry Wolf. He guest starred on ‘ER’ playing the victim of a car accident and a wealthy suitor in ‘Ring of Endless Light’.
