At the age of 5, Lauren moved from Hawaii to DC and she was raised by her father, Lawrence because her parents divorced. She traveled with her father during her childhood. She attended Langley High School and graduated in English from Barnard College in New York City. She earned her Master’s in Acting from Southern Methodist University’s Meadows School of the Arts, Division of Theatre, in Dallas.
Lauren is best known for her role as Lorelai on “Gilmore Girls” as the mother of Rory Gilmore. She got rid of her “motherly” image in the film “Bad Santa.”
She is currently dating “Friends” actor Matthew Perry and resides in West Hollywood.
