Matt grew up in Johnson City and graduated from the college of Charleston in South Carolina .Before Matt became an actor, he was a popular guy as he played NCAA tennis and captained his college team. His first appearance on TV was as Sean Mcgrail in “Young Americans” and he also played Logan on “Gilmore Girls”. Logan’s character was completely different from Sean. It showed his acting skills, playing two completely different roles to perfect.

Matt also appeared on the cult favorite TV show “Freaks and Geeks” and has appeared in the films “Eight Legged Freaks,” “Swimming Upstream” and “Advantage Heart.”

Matt was in love with Kate Bosworth for two years after they met on the set of “Young Americans.”
