Season 2
Second season’s opening episode ‘Sadie, Sadie’ was aired on 10-09-2001 Gilmore Girls began its second season with Lorelai accepting the marriage proposal from Max Medina who is one of the teachers at Clinton Prep School where Rory was enrolled during the first season of the show. Lorelai is unable to make a lasting commitment to any man and is currently weighing options between Rory’s father and Luke Danes. During the second season of the show, some recurring characters were raised to regular status: Dean Forester, Rory’s boyfriend; Paris Geller, a newspaper editor; and Jess Mariano, the 17 year old nephew of Luke Danes. By the end of the second season, it appeared that Rory’s also emulating the romantic travails of her mom. Rory and Jess had been involved in a car accident and after that Rory found her self in emotional embrace with him. Second season set up a cliffhanger situation that would have to wait till the beginning of the season three. Ending episode ‘I can’t get started’ of second season was aired on 5-21-2002.

Lorelai and Rory’s baskets have more competition than they ever anticipated during the annual Stars Hollow charity picnic basket auction. Rory quarrels with Lorelai when she finds that her mom had shown sympathy to Dean’ concerns about Jess. So, Rory and Lorelai have their own communication problems and Emily sides with Lorelai’s distrust of Jess. But Lorelai realizes that they’re wrong and she apologizes to her daughter.
