Season 3

Season 3’s opening Episode ‘Those Lazy-Hazy-Crazy Days’ was aired on 9-24-2002. With the beginning of the third season, it seems that Lorelai will abandon all hope of marrying Christopher. Lorelai’s attraction to café owner Luke grows stronger and Rory convinces her boyfriend that their relationship is doomed. Now, Rory is getting interested towards town reprobate Jess. Paris, Rory’s classmate who has a breakdown after her own application to Harvard is rejected. Rory decides to enter her dad’s Alma Mater, Yale.

In the season finale, the independence Inn closes down and Lorelai and Sookie (her business partner) decide to open a new bed & breakfast. At the Chilton Prep graduation ceremonies, Rory delivers an unforgettable commencement. Season finale ‘Those Are Strings, Pinocchio’ was aired on 5-20-2003.

It’s the time for annual Stars Hollow Dance marathon again and Lorelai is determined to win but the only trouble is getting a partner and she finally convinces Rory to help her. Dean sits in the bleachers to support Rory and Jess along with Shane joins him. Dean realizes on the dance floor that Rory is attracted to Jess and he breaks up with Rory. Rory tearfully runs off and Kirk is declared winner once again.
