Season 5
With the start of the Season 5, Lorelai’s parents have separated and they are planning for divorce. No one of Lorelai and Luke is certain in which direction their relationship should go and so the possibility of romance between them is threatened. Sookie is once again pregnant and her husband Jackson (Jackson Douglas), challenges the provincial tyranny of local grocer Taylor Doose. Logan Huntzberg is the son of a billionaire newspaper mogul and Rory befriends with him. Christopher once again enters into Lorelai’s life. The fifth season showed how the guest star Norman Mailer fitted into the proceedings and the relationship between Rory and Logan Huntzberg blossoms into something far more serious after the girl’s umpteenth breakup with the ubiquitous Dean.
Season 5’s opening episode ‘Say Goodbye to Daisy Miller’ was aired on 9-21-2004 and the last episode ‘A House is not a Home’ was aired on 5-17-2005.

Lorelai is shocked to hear her daughter’s plans for the future. Lorelai first turns to Richard and Emily for help, but soon realizes that Luke is the only person whom she can trust.
