Well, Lucas is my favorite man of Gilmore Girls!

Ever since I’ve started watching Gilmore Girls, I’ve been a huge fan of Lucas, portrayed by Scott Patterson. Though Scott has appeared in several TV productions throughout his career, character of Lucas is above all and it’s what helped him to be on the top of success.

On Gilmore Girls, Lucas was the most cherishing guy and was the owner of Luke’s Diner. He lost his mother in early childhood and was raised by his father along with his sister, named Liz. Initially, he helped his father to run his hardware store. After the death of his father, he turned the store into diner but kept all the original architecture in order to pay honor to him. The central characters of Gilmore Girls, such as Rory and Lorelai, were often seen at his diner so he had a good relationship with them. As series went on, Lucas developed romantic feelings for Lorelai. Ah… poor Lucas! Some people always blocked his way to express his love to her….e.g. Lorelai’s boyfriend Max Medina and Lucas’ girlfriend Rachel.

And, he had such a contentious relationship with Jess, his nephew. Both were often seen fighting with each other for silly issues. In the fifth season of Gilmore Girls, Luke and Lorelai started dating each other but it was never acceptable to her parents. The only one reason behind that was the blue-collar working class status of Luke. Luke cared too much for Rory such as taking care of her when she was sick; attending her high school graduation and helping her to move to college and all that was enough for Lorelai to propose him for marriage.

It was the sixth season of Gilmore Girls when Lucas came to know that he fathered a daughter with his old flame Anna Nardini. The negligence of ‘no secrets’ by Luke led Lorelai to break it up with him. When it was the time for Rory to leave the town, he arranged a surprise party for her. And, in the end of Gilmore Girls, we saw Luke and Lorelai rekindling their romance.
